Bathing suit – packed, black dress- packed, favorite hills – packed, waterproof mascara – packed
Every year, like a lot of us, I face the same problem over and over again. When it comes to packing for the summer vacation it seems a lot of us have the same issue: we either take too much and carry like dogs, or we don’t get the proper clothes and get frustrated once we arrive at our destination. The eternal question seems to be what do we really need to pack?
The best way to go is to start with the number of days of your stay. Once you have that in mind take a few tops and skirts or pants less than that. Make sure you get clothes that are easily combined so that you can wear a skirt, for example, more than once and with a different top, so that you can make a new outfit.
Depending on where you are going, add in your bag a going-out dress or two, or more yoga pants, whatever item will serve the purpose of your trip best. The same goes for the shoes, take an additional pair or two casual shoes, or more classic, official hills, if you are going to a night out destination, or sneakers for hiking, if you have planned to do so. Do not forget, even if it is a summer holiday, the weather in the mountains and by the sea is cooler and warmer clothes are a must.
The most important part in packing is to have in mind your destination. If you are headed to the seaside, in a modern resort your suitcase can be more girly with an outgoing style. However, if you are going to the mountains, you should carry with you primarily casual- sporty, comfy clothes and shoes.
In the meantime, my beach bag that has my towel, flip flops, camera, sunscreen, and waterproof mascara, is waiting for me by the pool, need to get going
Good luck packing!
